About

I have been sewing since I was 10 years old (a long time). My first sewing venture was a cotton summer outfit... t-top and shorts. Since my mother was not handy with a needle, it was my aunt that taught me how to sew.

I vividly remember choosing the pink and white gingham cotton fabric along with a Simplicity Pattern. Aunt May patiently led me through the entire process of construction.

I was so proud of my creation!

Through the years, I continued to sew. Although far from an expert seamstress, I constructed simple outfits for myself and my two little boys.

Eventually, I discovered the wonderful world of quilting. I enjoyed many years expressing my creativity through this art... along with growing an obsessively large "stash" of quilting fabric.

Although I rarely find time to sew these days, I still love the world of sewing and quilting in particular.

The choice in sewing machines today is bewildering compared to what was available in Aunt May's era. Cost varies widely, ranging from budget-priced all the way to downright expensive!

Yet, there is always a “bargain sewing machine” within each brand. The purpose of this site is to help you find such a bargain... an affordable machine to suit your budget and your needs.

As the site grows, there will be sewing tips, stories of interest, news from the sewing world, and reviews of sewing related products.

Enjoy!

Warmly,
Jenn Rockwell
